Meet Rachel

My personal style:

Boho motor babe

Celebrities whose style I covet:

Alexa Chung, I swoon! She’s retro, a tom boy, rocks the Peter Pan collar regularly, and manages to look classy while maintaining total badassness! I once read an interview where she said, “You know what you like, so follow your instincts.” That was the best advice I could have heard while trying to figure out my style at a young age, and I still live by it today.

Fashion faux pas/trend I’ll be happy to see gone:

The "athleisure" trend.  I just don't understand it.  Wearing workout clothes when you're not working out is like wearing tennis whites when you're not playing tennis.  Just because everyone else is doing it doesn't mean you should- it's very reminiscent of the Juicy Couture velour tracksuit phenomenon of the late 90s.  Come on gals, lets see a bit of individuality in your daily routine!

Can’t live without:

My moto jacket. I do love wearing a sun dress on a warm day or a pretty floral blouse, but I’ll always throw my moto jacket on top to add just a little bit of sass.

Style motto:

Dress for yourself and no one else! I like to see a little bit of everyone’s identity expressed in the way they dress themselves.

Hobbies:

Reading is a long time hobby of mine. I’m not sure I can even call it a hobby anymore, it’s more like an addiction! I also dabble in drawing, painting, and writing. Evenings I love to see live music, discovering new bands and rekindling my love for those I’ve followed for years. Because of my obsession for 60s instrumental rock and country (Patsy Cline is my idol), I’ve recently picked up the steel lap guitar.

When I’m not working you can find me:

Hanging out in nature or in the midst of San Francesco's night life! The surrounding forests, parks, and trails of San Francisco are wondrous. There’s nothing like escaping the city for a day and reconnecting with Mother Nature. If I feel like a night out with my girlfriends, you’ll find me at the dive bars in the mission, or local venues like Slim's or Bottom of the Hill....but it's just as likely that I’m home watching Netflix on my couch with the roomies and cuddling with my tabby, Farrah.
